Associating a Sites Event, Blog or News Post to a Ministry

Summary: This guide provides instructions on how to link events, news posts, and blog posts to an existing program (often used for ministries), creating a dynamic and organized way to automatically display relevant information on the corresponding program page.


Before You Begin

  • You must have the necessary permissions to edit Events, News Posts, and Blog Posts.
  • The Program (e.g., Youth Ministry) that you wish to associate the content with must already exist.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1.  Navigate to the content section you wish to update (e.g., Sites > Content > Events). [Locate the specific content item you wish to edit.]

2.  Select the post for editing. 

  • Existing Content: Find the item, Click the more option (...), and Select Edit
  • New Content: Click Add Event, Add News Post, or Add Blog Post.

3.  Locate the Associated Program field.

4.  Select the desired Program from the dropdown menu.

5.  Click Save or Create to save your changes.


Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • How long will the associated content display on the Program Page?
    • Events: Begin displaying 90 days before the event date and continue until the event has passed.
    • News and Blog Posts: Display for 180 days after their publication date.
  • Why isn't my program listed in the dropdown? The program must be created first within Sites > Content > Programs before it can be selected as an associated program for other content.
