Adding a Main Menu Item in Sites

Summary: This guide walks you through the steps to add a new menu item to your Tithely Site's main menu, detailing how to set the display label, choose the link destination (internal page or external URL), and configure visibility settings for optimal user navigation.

Before You Begin

  • You must have the necessary permissions to access and modify Sites.
  • Have the desired Label (menu text) and Link To destination (page name or URL) ready.
  • Tithely Tip: For optimal user experience, aim to limit your main menu to 5-7 items.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1.  Click on Sites from your main navigation menu.

2.  Select Menus from the left navigation.

3.  Click the Add Link button.

4.  Enter the display text for the menu item into the Label field.

5.  Select the destination in the Link To field:

  • Internal Page: Use the Dropdown Selector to choose a page, event, news, or collection.
  • External/Custom Link: Enter the full or relative URL (e.g., (https://www.example.com or /about-us).

6.  Select the desired Visibility (e.g., 'All', 'Logged In') and Toggle the Open in New Tab box if necessary.

7.  Click the Save Link button.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • My new menu item doesn't appear in the main navigation: Ensure you Select the correct menu (e.g., 'Main Menu' if you have multiple) and check that the Visibility is set to 'All' (or your intended audience).
  • Should I use 'Open in New Tab' for internal links? It's generally advised to only check 'Open in New Tab' for external URLs to keep users on your primary site without forcing extra tabs.
