Creating and Scheduling Newsletters in Sites

Summary: This guide walks you through the process of creating, adding content, and scheduling a newsletter in Sites, utilizing content pulled directly from your website (events, news, sermons) or custom sections, ensuring easy communication with your audience without requiring design expertise.


Before You Begin

  • You must have the necessary permissions to access Sites and Newsletters.
  • Have your Email Subject, Send From email, and Subscription List selected.
  • Newsletters are only available after you launch their Site with their domain; until that point, you won't be able to set up any newsletters. 

Step-by-Step Instructions

1.  Click on Sites from your main navigation.

2.  Select Newsletters from the left menu.     

3.  Click the Add Newsletter button.

4.  Enter the subject line, Select the Send From email, and Select the Subscription List(s).

5.  Click Create Newsletter.

6.  Click the +Add Section button to add content.

  • Select Event, News, or Sermon to pull in website content OR
  • Select Custom Section to enter your own headline, content, button text, and image. * Click Save Newsletter Section.

7.  Reorder sections (optional): Click Reorder Sections, Click, drag, and drop the handle to adjust the order, and Click Done Reordering.

8.  Click the Schedule button.

9.  Confirm the settings (Subject, Send From, List) and Schedule the date and time.

10. Click the Schedule Newsletter to Send button.


Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • How do I preview the newsletter before sending? Click the Send Copy button (available during the creation/editing process), and Enter an email address to send a preview copy to your inbox.
  • If I edit the content in the newsletter, does it change the original website post? No, Editing the Heading, Sub-heading, or content in the newsletter section will not affect the original post's content on the website.
  • Why can't I turn off the signup bar at the bottom of my site? The signup bar is automatically enabled when the Newsletter feature is turned on and cannot be turned off independently of the main feature toggle.
