Using Attendance Report Filters

Summary: This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to use Tithely's advanced attendance report filters, allowing you to customize reports by date range, specific events, and attendance criteria (Attended/Missed a range of events), and save those custom reports for regular use.

Before You Begin

  • All filtering is done within the Reports section of a specific event (Events Event View Details Reports).
  • The event you started with is checked by default and cannot be unchecked.
  • Filter by Tags only works if the event eligibility is set to "Specific Tags" in the event settings.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Filter by Date Range and Event

1.  Choose a specific date range for your report (single date, month, year, or longer).

2.  Select one or more events using the event dropdown. [Click "More" to see older events. Multiple events will appear in chronological order in the table export.]

Filter by Advanced Attendance Criteria (Attended/Missed)

1.  Select "Attended" or "Missed" from the Attendance dropdown.

2.  Set the criteria:

  • Example (Attended): To find people who attended 3–5 times over the last 5 weeks of Sunday Service: Set the date range for 5 events back, select "Attended > More Than > 2 Events." (This reports those who attended 3, 4, or 5 times.)
  • Example (Missed): To find people who missed the last 4 weeks but did not miss more than 5 weeks: Choose "Missed > The Last > 4 Weeks" and Check the box that says "exclude people who missed more than 5 weeks." [This lists those who came recently but haven't attended lately.]

Filter by Tags and People

1.  Tags: Only works if event eligibility is "Specific Tags." Use the Tags filter to only show results for the specific Tags of your choosing. You can also "Group by Tags" to sort the results by Tag.

2.  People: Use the People dropdown (visible by clicking "More" next to the search criteria) to filter by a profile field, such as "Status" (e.g., to only see the results of those with the status of "Member" or "Attender").

How to Save Reports

1.  Set the filter criteria exactly as you want it saved.

2.  Click the down arrow next to "Download as Excel" and choose "Save Report."

3.  Name your report and choose the date range option:

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Where is the headcount for anonymous attenders located? You will find the headcount for anonymous attenders at the bottom of the list of individuals in the report. You must select "All Eligible" in the filter to include this data.
  • Why would someone appear multiple times in the report? If a person is in multiple Tags that are eligible for the event and you "Group by Tags," they will show up in each list, which can skew total headcount results.
  • How do I access Tithely-created reports? Click the down arrow next to "Download as Excel" and click "Load Saved Reports." You may need to select "Show Custom Reports" to view both system and custom reports.
