Example Tag Organization Structure

Utilizing a logical folder structure makes your tags easier to manage and apply. This example assumes a mixed ministry structure (some small group-based, some not).

Expert Tips for Optimizing Your Tagging System

  • Consistency is Key: Use similar naming conventions across your tags (e.g., always start volunteer tags with the word "Volunteer").
  • Filter Before Tagging: Use the People search filters (age, status, attendance) first, and then use the Action Panel to Bulk Assign the resulting list to a new tag.
  • Keep Folders Clean: Regularly review and archive or delete outdated or unused tags to enhance user satisfaction and data efficiency.
  • Avoid Over-Tagging: Use broad categories (folders) and reserve specific tags for actionable groups.
