Summary: This comprehensive guide explores the three Tithely Check-In modes—Search, List, and Kiosk—explaining the security level, primary usage scenario, and navigation methods for each, empowering you to customize your check-in process for optimal efficiency and convenience.
Before You Begin
- The Check-In mode is selected based on security priority and whether the station is manned or un-manned (public).
- To switch the mode, click the settings wheel icon in the upper right corner of the Check-In page and select the option for Mode.
Check-In Modes Explained
| Mode | Security Level | Ideal Usage | Access Methods |
| Search Mode | Medium | Staff or Volunteers only. Security is not the highest priority. | Search by Name (first, last, or both), Phone Number (7-digit min.), or Barcode. |
| List Mode | Least Secure | Staff or Volunteers only. Easiest method for staff running check-in. | Displays a filterable list of all eligible people alphabetically. |
| Kiosk Mode | Most Secure | Un-manned public check-in station (self-check-in). Prevents people from seeing names outside their own family. | Search only by Phone Number or Barcode. |
Kiosk Mode and Security
- Recommended for Public Use: Kiosk mode is designed for self-check-in because it only allows searching by phone number or barcode, which prevents people from searching and seeing other members' names.
- Password Lock (Default): By default, Kiosk Mode is locked, requiring a password to access the settings.
- Enabling Password: To require a password for any mode (Search, List, or Kiosk), click the lock icon when accessing the Mode settings. When enabled, the logged-in user must enter their password to change the mode or settings again.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
- How does Search Mode work with names? When you type in at least 3 characters, names will populate. If more than 15 names are set to populate, the search will ask you to narrow your results further.
- Why is List Mode the least secure? It simply lists all eligible individuals alphabetically and allows check-in with a single click, making it best suited for trusted staff/volunteers.
- How do I require a password for Search or List Mode? Access the Mode setting and click on the lock icon next to the mode to enable the password requirement.
