Summary: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for exporting your People and Giving data from QuickBooks Desktop and importing it into your Tithely account using our bulk import tools.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to your QuickBooks Desktop application.
- You must have Administrator access to your Tithely account.
- Important: At this time, Giving data can only be imported by our Move-In team. Please use the steps below to export the data and then submit it to our team.
Step 1: Export People from QuickBooks
- Navigate to the Reports menu and select Customer Contact List.
- Click the Customize button in the top left corner.
- Select the columns you wish to include in your export.
- Click Run Report.
- Click the Export button and save the report as an Excel file.
Step 2: Export Giving from QuickBooks
- Navigate to Reports, highlight Sales, and select Sales by Customer Detail.
- Select the desired Date Range for your export.
- Click the Refresh button to update the report.
- Click the Export or Excel button and save the file.
Step 3: Import People into Tithely

Click the User and Organization Settings icon
in the top right corner of your Tithely dashboard.
- Select Bulk Tasks from the dropdown menu.
- Click the People category on the left.
- Download the template file and open it.
- Copy the data from your QuickBooks People export and paste it into the appropriate columns in the template. Do not delete the first row (column headers).
- Save the populated template as a .CSV file.
- Return to the Bulk Tasks screen and upload your saved .CSV file to complete the import.

- How do I import my Giving data? Importing Giving data is a free service handled by our dedicated Move-In team. After exporting your Giving data from QuickBooks, please fill out the Move-In Request form to have our team import it for you.

- My import file is failing. What should I check? Ensure that you have not altered or deleted the original header row in the template file. Also, verify that you have saved your final file in the .CSV file format before uploading.
