How to View Group Memberships on a Profile

Summary: This guide explains how to view the list of groups an individual belongs to directly from their People profile. This feature provides a quick overview of a person's involvement and connections within your church community.

Before You Begin

To view the "Groups" tab on a profile, you must have the appropriate permissions:

  • "Edit Groups" Permission: This allows you to view the Groups tab on all people profiles (ideal for Admins and Staff).

  • "View My Groups" Permission: This allows you to view the Groups tab on your own profile only.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the People tab in the top navigation bar.

  2. Search for the individual whose profile you want to view using the search bar.

  3. Click on the person's Name to open their full profile page.

  4. Click on the Groups tab.

    • Note: This tab is located alongside other profile sections like "Details," "Giving," and "Involvement."

  5. Review the Group Memberships list. The tab displays every group the person belongs to, including:

    • Group Name: The title of the group.

    • Meeting Frequency: How often the group meets (e.g., Weekly, Bi-Weekly).

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why can't I see the "Groups" tab on a profile? If you do not see this tab, you likely do not have the required permissions. You need the "Edit Groups" permission to see this tab on other people's profiles. If you only have "View My Groups," you will only see this tab when viewing your own profile.

  • Can I edit the group membership from this screen? The Groups tab on a profile is primarily for viewing involvement. To add or remove a person from a group, it is often best to navigate to the specific Group via the Groups dashboard and manage the member list there.
