Before You Begin
Permissions: You must be logged into your Tithely Sites admin dashboard to make changes.
Concept: Every section of your webpage (a header, a photo gallery, a text area) is a separate "Block." You build pages by stacking these blocks on top of each other.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Adding a New Block
Navigate to the specific page you want to edit.
Locate the Plus (+) icon on the left-hand side of the page (usually between existing sections).
Click the + icon to open the block library.
Select the type of block you want to add. Options include:
Text with Photo
Gallery or Video
Events, News, or Blogs
Giving (for Tithely Giving integration)
Contact Forms, Maps, and more.
2. Customizing Block Content
Once the block is added, it will load with default placeholder content.
Edit Images: Click the Edit Image button on the block to upload your own photo.
Edit Text: Hover over any text element and click the Pencil Icon (Edit Element) to change the wording.
Add Elements: Use the small (+) icons inside the block to add extra buttons or text lines.
Reorder: Drag and drop elements within the block to rearrange them.
3. Editing Block Settings (Style & Layout)
To change the background, colors, or layout structure:
Click the Edit Block button located in the top-right corner of the specific block.
Navigate through the available tabs to customize the design:
Style: Adjust overlay colors, opacity, block height, and padding.
Background: Upload a background image or a background video (note: background videos play without sound).
Layout: Choose different structural arrangements for the content.
Fonts: Customize headings and text styles for this specific block.
Buttons: Change button colors, sizes, labels, and links.
Settings: Toggle Publish status (on/off) or adjust Device Visibility (choose to show/hide the block on mobile, desktop, or tablet).
Troubleshooting & FAQs
How do I delete a block? Click the Edit Block button in the top right of the section you want to remove. At the bottom of the settings menu, look for the Delete Block option.
I added a background video, but there is no sound. This is expected behavior. Background videos in the "Background" tab are designed for visual aesthetics only and do not play audio. If you need a video with sound (like a sermon or announcement), use a Video Block instead.
Can I move a block up or down the page? Yes. When you hover over the block, look for the Reorder arrows (usually on the side or in the Edit menu) to move the entire section up or down the page.
