Managing Email Templates in the Basic Email Editor

Step-by-Step Instructions

Creating and Saving a New Template

 

  1. Navigate to the People list (or any entry point to email members).

  2. Select the members you wish to email and Select Basic Email.

  3. Draft your email message in the compose window.

  4. Click Templates in the toolbar.

  5. Select Save as New Template.

  6. Enter a name for the template and Click OK.

    • Refresh your page to ensure the template is saved and ready for future use.

 

Inserting or Replacing a Template

  1. Open the email compose window.

  2. Click Templates in the toolbar.

  3. Select the desired template to insert it into your email.

    • To Replace an existing template: Create your updated message, Click Templates, Select Replace Template, and choose the template you wish to overwrite.

 

Deleting a Template

  1. Click Templates in the toolbar within the compose window.

  2. Hover over the Delete option.

  3. Select the template you would like to remove from the submenu.

 

Sharing a Template (Basic Editor)

  1. Open the template you wish to share in the compose window.

  2. Click More in the toolbar and Select View Source Code.

  3. Copy the code displayed and send it to the other user.

  4. Instruct the recipient to Paste the code into their View Source Code box, Click OK, and then Save as New Template.


Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why does a specific template appear automatically? The Basic Editor remembers the last template used. To fix this, create a blank template named "No Template" (by clearing the Source Code) and select it when you want to send a simple email.

  • What are the recommended image sizes? Header graphics should be 600-700 pixels wide. Content images should be approximately 480 x 480 pixels. It is best to resize graphics before inserting them to avoid formatting issues.

  • Are templates shared automatically? No, templates in the Basic Editor are private to the user who created them. To share automatically across your team, consider using the Design Email Editor.
