Generating Custom Giving Reports

Summary: Learn how to effortlessly generate and export customized giving reports by applying specific filters and arranging columns to suit your organization's financial management needs.


Before You Begin

  • You must log in to your Tithely account with the appropriate administrative or financial permissions.

  • Important: You must set a Date range filter in order to download a CSV file.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to your Tithely account.

  2. Select Giving from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

  3. Select Transactions from the Giving menu.

  4. Click the Filters button.

    • Customize your report by selecting which filters to include (e.g., Funds, Location, Product, Payment Type, Date).

    • Click Apply Filters when finished to load the filtered results.

5. Click the Columns button to select the specific data points you'd like to display.

  • You can drag and drop the columns into your preferred viewing order (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Net Amount, Fund Name, etc.).

6. Click the Views button to save this setup. This is the eye icon.

  • Time Saver Tip: If this is a report you will view regularly, naming and saving the view allows you to easily access it in the future without rebuilding it.

7. Click the small Export File button in the top right-hand corner.

  • This will download the report as a .csv file to your computer.

8. Click the Summary option on the top right side of your screen to view a Summary Report.

  • From there, Click Print, which will prompt you to download this report as a PDF.


Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why can't I export my report to a CSV?: You must set a date range to download a CSV file. Open your Filters, apply a date range, and try exporting again.

  • Where did my downloaded file go?: The report will automatically download to your computer's default download location. If you have trouble locating it, check your internet browser's download bar or your computer's "Downloads" folder.

  • Can I save a report format so I don't have to rebuild it every time?: Yes! Once you have your filters and columns set up perfectly, click the Views button to name and save that specific view for quick access later.
