How to Limit Event Check-In to Group Members

Summary: Learn how to restrict an event's check-in roster so that only members of a specific associated group appear as options in the Breeze 3.0 space. This is a great way to streamline attendance for specific ministries, like a Men's or Women's group meeting.

Before You Begin

  • Breeze 3.0: These instructions are specific to navigating the updated 3.0 space.

  • Associated Groups Required: To use this setting, your event must be linked to an existing group in your database.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Updating an Existing Event

  1. Navigate to your event and open the Event Settings (e.g., "Men's Ministry" meeting).

  2. Verify that the event is successfully linked to an Associated Group (e.g., the Men's Ministry group).

  3. Locate the Eligible People section within the settings menu.

  4. Select the option for Group members only.

  5. Save your settings. When you launch Check-in for this event, the roster will now be strictly limited to just the members of that specific group.

Creating a New Event

  1. Click the option to Add an Event (e.g., "Women's Ministry").

  2. Enter your standard event details and ensure you assign an Associated Group.

  3. Locate the Check-in settings block.

  4. Select the Group members only option.

  5. Click Add to save your new event. When the event begins and you open Check-in, the system will only display the individuals belonging to that associated women's ministry group.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why don't I see the option to limit check-in? The "Group members only" setting relies on the event being linked to a group. Double-check that you have selected an "Associated Group" in your event settings first.

  • What happens if someone new shows up to the ministry meeting? If you have limited the check-in strictly to group members, a new visitor will not appear on the immediate check-in roster until they are officially added to the associated group within your database.
