Summary: This guide explains how Tithely automatically attempts to link form entries to existing People profiles by matching Name, Email, and Address, and provides step-by-step instructions for manually associating an entry, creating a new profile from an entry, or disconnecting an entry when needed.
Before You Begin
- Automatic association occurs when Name and Email and/or Address match between the form and a profile.
- Exact Field Matching: For form data to update or match a profile, the Name, Spelling, and Field Type must be exact (e.g., a "Text" field named "Allergies" on the form must match a "Text" field named "Allergies" on the profile).
- The disconnect option only appears if the entry is already connected to a profile.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
- When does Automatic Association occur? Automatic association occurs when the form entry is not attempting to update, add, or remove new information from a profile (i.e., when data is not being introduced). If new data is present, the system offers a manual association (with or without suggestion).
- If I have multiple "Email" fields on my form, which one is used for connection? The system will use the last Email, Address, or Phone field on the form for connection and update purposes.
- Why would I disconnect a connected profile? You might disconnect an entry if it was connected to the wrong individual, or if you do not want the form data to make the individual eligible for event check-in.
