Before You Begin
To enable a Tithely notification, you must have the corresponding permission enabled in Users and Roles. Only the data/people to which you have access will be sent in a notification.
Birthday: Requires the People > View > Age permission. (Provides a list of birthdays for the following month).
Follow Ups: Requires the Follow Ups > View Assigned to Others permission. (Provides follow-ups from the past week that have been assigned, completed, or are past due).
New People: Requires the Manage Account > [Any Option] permission. (Provides a list of new people added over the past week).
Attendance: Requires the Events > Check In Reports permission. (Provides an overview of attendance for events in the preceding week).
Giving: Requires the Contributions > Reports > View Reports permission. (Provides an overview of giving for the past week).
Anniversary: Requires the People > View > [Anniversary Field] permission. (Provides a list of anniversaries for the following month).
Prerequisite for Anniversary Notifications: This option will only display if you have a "date" profile field containing the word "anniversary", "wedding", "marriage", or "married".
Step-by-Step Instructions
Click the Account Settings icon (the person icon) in the top right corner of the screen.
Select Notifications from the dropdown menu.
Select which notifications you would like to receive by checking the corresponding boxes, and choose what day of the week you would like to receive them.
Click the Update button to save your preferences.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Where are these notification emails sent? The email address used is the email attached to your user account (not necessarily your profile). To update your email address, click the person icon in the top right corner and choose "User Settings" from the dropdown menu.
Why isn't the Anniversary notification showing up as an option? Anniversary notifications only appear in the list if a date field has been added in Profile Fields with specific labels. Create a profile field date and label it with a word like "Anniversary", "Marriage", "Wedding", or "Married" to trigger this notification option. (Note: You can only have one Anniversary notification per user).
Why are some people missing from my Birthday or Anniversary notifications? Notifications respect your user permissions. If your user role restricts you to only viewing a specific tag (e.g., High School Kids), those are the only birthdates that will be sent to you. Archived people are also excluded from these lists.
What timeframe does the Giving notification cover? The Giving notification is a rolling 7-day time period that goes backwards from your chosen delivery date. For example, if you chose a delivery date of Monday the 12th, the notification will include gifts from the previous Monday through Sunday (the 5th-11th). It cuts off at Sunday at midnight to queue the email for 8:00 AM Monday morning.
